Five bio-engineered workers. Same factory floor. Different bad ideas.

Gravhound Roster Hub

Gravhounds are not mascots pasted onto a shooter. They are the workforce: bipedal, bio-engineered canine operators built for jobs humans would rather not take, stranded on the far side of the galaxy, still expected to hit quota. Octopus Panic has named five playable Gravhounds for launch-era coverage — Zane, Dozer, Selene, Finn, and Luna — each with a dedicated voice and a personality kit. This hub is the roster index. Use it to pick a first main, then jump into the individual pages and the preview tier list.

Josh Holmes has been explicit that Gravhounds is not a class-based shooter. Every hound can build. Every hound can use the same weapons. Every hound carries the Grav Beam and the industrial propulsion rig. The unique abilities are flavor with teeth: Dozer plants bone-bomb proximity mines, Selene throws a Fetch disc and rides the retrieve, Finn uses Play Dead. Zane and Luna also have unique tools; the studio has not published the same level of kit detail for them in the gamescom interviews, so their pages stay honest about that.

How to read the roster

Think in pack roles, not locked classes:

  • Anchor / denial: Dozer wants ground, mines, and a pipeline worth defending. Pair with How to build.
  • Space / retrieve: Selene covers distance and Fetch lines. Pair with How to extract when someone has to reach a far crate.
  • Chaos control: Finn is the interview example for Play Dead and self-revive adjacent tricks. Pair with co-op so the pack does not treat a downed hound as a wipe.
  • Flex: Zane and Luna complete the five-hound crew. Until full kits are public, treat them as fully capable operators who still share the factory tools.

A four-stack does not need four different hounds to function, but the design intent is that mixed personality kits cover more of a job than four copies of the same joke. Solo players can still clear shifts; Octopus Panic has said the game is intense alone and chaotic with a crew.

Shared kit every page assumes

Do not skip these because they are not unique:

  • Grav Beam for haul, place, fetch, and violence. See Grav Beam.
  • Pipelines as power, structure sockets, and a grind rail with unlimited boost. See How to build.
  • Reward Pods that inject randomized weapons and upgrades mid-shift. See loadouts.
  • Dropship as the operation center. See Getting Started.

Unlocks continue after a shift. Octopus Panic plans more Gravhounds, weapons, and upgrade paths during Early Access. This hub will add pages when those names are public. We will not invent a sixth hound to fill a nav slot.

Where to go next

New players: pick any hound, then read Getting Started. Pack leaders: open co-op and assign who watches the pipe versus who chases materials. Theory-crafters: the character preview is labeled as a pre-release read, not a live ladder. News watchers: Gamescom 2026 is where the roster was shown to a wide audience.

Loyal. Obedient. Expendable. That Steam line is the joke and the warning. Build the pack as if COSMO will send you out again tomorrow, because that is the loop.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Gravhounds players.

How many Gravhounds can I play at Early Access?

Coverage names five: Zane, Dozer, Selene, Finn, and Luna. Octopus Panic plans to unlock more Gravhounds on the road to 1.0.

Do I have to main a class?

No. Personality kits differ, but building, weapons, the Grav Beam, and the propulsion rig are shared. Read Getting Started.

Which Gravhound is best?

There is no live ladder yet. Use the preview tier list as a kit discussion, then pick the hound whose public ability matches how you like to move.

Can four players pick the same Gravhound?

Octopus Panic has not published a clone restriction. Mixed kits are the intended pack fantasy; see co-op.
