Selene — Gravhounds Crew

Selene (sometimes captioned Seline in live interview subtitles) is the Gravhound whose unique kit is Fetch: she throws a Frisbee-like disc, can go grab it, and cover long distances. Holmes used her as the mobility/retrieve example in the IGN gamescom conversation, right next to Dozer’s mines and Finn’s Play Dead. Spelling on this wiki is Selene, matching written launch coverage. If Octopus Panic’s in-game UI prints Seline, we will follow the client. Either way, she is one of five playable operators with a dedicated voice, not a secret sixth class.

Public kit

• Fetch / disc throw. A thrown tool you can retrieve.
• Long distance. The interview’s point is coverage, not a damage formula. Use it to be where the crate is, or to be where the downed packmate is.
• Shared floor. Grav Beam, guns, turrets, pipe-boost. Fetch is extra travel, not a skip for logistics.

The Grav Beam already lets every hound fling objects. Selene’s unique button is a personality-shaped version of that fantasy with more range. You still need to place Build Kits like an adult. See How to build.

How to spend Selene on a shift

Early: help seed the spine, then you are allowed to be the scout — not because classes say so, because your kit wants space. Do not scout so far that the fabricator dies in silence.

Mid: Fetch lines for kits and pickups. A disc that returns you to a fight is better than a disc that returns you to a screenshot.

Late: you are the extract mule for the far crate the pack should not all walk to. How to extract still needs a caller. Selene is often the greedy one; that means someone else must be the clock.

Solo: long distance is a trap. A short pipe and an early leave beat a heroic Fetch into a swarm you cannot peel alone.

Pack: you pair with a Dozer-brained spine. Read co-op. Call “I’m going long” so the middle does not evaporate.

Pack partners

• Dozer: mines in the middle, disc on the rim.
• Finn: if you overstay a Fetch, Play Dead is not a travel tool. Come back.
• Zane / Luna: flex hounds can gun the lane you just opened.
• Two Selenes: hilarious contest for the same crate. Name who is allowed to go long.

Tier talk, labeled as preview

The crew preview ranks Selene high for public information and for matching the game’s Fetch marketing. Distance is only value if the crate returns. A Selene who never sockets a turret is a tourist. After Early Access numbers exist, mobility kits sometimes get nerfed for being too good at ignoring the factory. We will rewrite letters. We will not rewrite the job.

Mistakes to avoid

• Treating Fetch as a replacement for pipeline grind. The pipe still gives unlimited boost.
• Beaming and discing the same volatile tank. Pick a disaster, not two.
• Opening a new node while the extract is called.
• Assuming “long distance” means you can skip Getting Started.

Selene is the reminder that Gravhounds wants movement to be industrial and a little bit dog. Throw the disc, retrieve the job, get on the dropship. The Crew hub has hounds who would rather plant bombs or play dead if that is your mood instead.

Fetch versus the shared Grav Beam

New Selenes throw the disc at every crate and forget the beam can already sling a kit across a short pipe. Use Fetch for the gap the beam cannot politely cover. Use the beam for the dump zone, the turret socket, and the health toss. The Grav Beam guide is not optional flavor.

If a future patch makes the disc a damage tool, we will say so. Right now it is a travel and retrieve story. Travel that does not return a crate is cardio. Return to the Crew hub when you want a hound who would rather plant the ground you just skipped.
