Crew Preview Tiers

This is a preview tier list for the five named Gravhounds. It is not a ladder, not a win-rate dump, and not a promise that Dozer will be overtuned on November 3. Octopus Panic has shown personality kits, not DPS charts. We rank how clearly a kit maps onto the job the game is selling, plus how much public information you can actually plan around. After Game Preview exists, this page should be rewritten with real shifts.

Shared tools are assumed for every letter: Grav Beam, building, guns, boost. If a YouTuber ranks a hound F because “they cannot turret,” close the tab and open How to build.

Preview bands

S — Public kit, maps onto the loop

Dozer. Bone bombs as proximity mines plus a digging mention. Territory is the game. Pipeline, fabricator, extract path — mines have somewhere to live. Highest floor for players who want the factory to feel like a claim. Still a Gravhound, not an engineer class.

Selene. Fetch disc and long distance. The store page is literally titled Fetch for the beam; Selene is that joke with a dedicated button. High ceiling in packs that let her go long and still staff the spine. Solo ceiling is lower because distance without backup is how you become a story.

A — Public kit, more situational

Finn. Play Dead plus a self-revive beat in trailer talk. Survival tools are gold in an escalating swarm if the pack extracts. They are bronze if Finn uses the stall to mine one more ridge. High value in co-op as peel insurance. Not a medic class.

Flex — Unique kit not fully public

Zane and Luna. Confirmed playable, voiced, unique. Not exemplified in the Holmes kit walkthrough. Parking them in S or D would be fan fiction. They play the full game today; they get a letter when we can name the button. See Zane and Luna.

How to use this list

  1. Pick a vibe from the crew hub.
  2. If you want a named toy, Dozer / Selene / Finn.
  3. If you want zero gimmick temptation, Zane or Luna.
  4. Then ignore the letter and learn Getting Started.
  5. Compare loadout greed on loadouts, which is a separate axis from hound identity.

What would move a rank

  • A public cooldown that makes mines rare or Fetch constant.
  • A rule that clones cannot stack (four Dozers).
  • Enemies that ignore proximity mines or punish disc travel.
  • A Finn self-revive that is pack-wide, shrinking his uniqueness.
  • New Gravhounds in Early Access stealing a niche.

None of those are confirmed. Early Access is when they might be.

Pack composition notes (still preview)

A sensible four-stack for learning: one denial brain (often Dozer), one distance brain (often Selene), one stall (often Finn), one flex. That is a teaching comp, not a raid buff. Two flex hounds plus two named kits is also fine. Four of one name is a meme you are allowed to run; the planet will still ask for pipe.

Solo ranking is flatter. The loop beats the kit. Leave earlier. Read How to extract.

Integrity rules for this page

No invented percentages. No secret legendary. No “Luna howl confirmed.” No copying another wiki’s S-tier graphic. When patch notes exist, date the change. Until then, the Guides hub is the real meta.

If you came here to main a dog, good. Main the job too.

Solo versus pack letters

Solo, flatten every S. Dozer mines still help; Selene distance still tempts a death. Pack, the S band is about coverage: denial plus Fetch plus a stall. If your four-stack is four flex hounds, you still have a full game — you just need to name hats louder. Re-read co-op before you screenshot this list as a rulebook.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Gravhounds players.

Who is S-tier in Gravhounds?

In this preview, Dozer and Selene, because their kits are public and map onto factory and Fetch play. Not a live ladder.

Why are Zane and Luna unranked?

They are flex: unique kits exist but are not named in the public examples. They are not weak by default.

Will this change after launch?

Yes. Early Access play should overwrite these bands. Follow Updates.

Does the tier list matter more than building?

No. Shared building still decides shifts. See How to build.
