Gravhounds System Requirements

Gravhounds is a DirectX 12 Windows game with a physics layer that is the whole point of the Grav Beam. If your GPU is already unhappy in other Unreal Engine 5 titles, believe it. This page copies the Steam PC requirements and explains what they mean for a four-stack. Xbox Series X|S specs are “it runs on the console.” Handheld claims beyond that are not on the store page, so we will not invent them.

Minimum (Steam)

Minimum is “the game boots and the job is playable,” not “4K swarm with every turret laser looking like a film still.” Pipe, beam, and four-player chaos will tax you more than a quiet menu.

Recommended (Steam)

• CPU: Intel Core i5-10600KF or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
• RAM: 16 GB
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (Steam prints RX 5600X in one field; treat it as the 5600-class / 5600 XT recommendation)
• DirectX: 12
• Network: Broadband internet
• Storage: 10 GB

Recommended is the honest target if you want the physics jokes to stay jokes instead of a slideshow while someone yeets a barrel through your fabricator.

How to read these numbers for Gravhounds

• CPU: Co-op physics plus AI wildlife plus placed turrets. Old dual-cores are not on the list.
• GPU: UE5 plus beams plus particle swarm. The 1660 / 590 line is the floor.
• RAM: 8 GB minimum will leave little room for browser Discord plus Chrome plus the game. 16 GB is the comfortable co-op call.
• Disk: 10 GB is small by 2026 standards; leave headroom for patches during Early Access.
• Network: Online co-op. Solo still lists broadband. Do not plan a LAN-only night the store does not describe. See co-op.

Steam also flags full controller support, camera comfort, color alternatives, custom volume, playable without timed input, subtitle options, and DualShock / DualSense support. Accessibility is part of the store listing, not a rumor.

Xbox and Play Anywhere

If you are on Series X|S, skip the GPU anxiety and read platforms. Xbox Play Anywhere is on the Xbox Wire module, which matters if you bounce between console and Xbox on PC in the Microsoft ecosystem. Steam specs do not apply to a Series X.

What we will not claim

No guaranteed FPS. No “this laptop is fine.” No Linux gold rating — Steam’s Linux field looks like a stub compared to the Windows list; treat Windows as the supported PC OS. No cloud-only Xbox spec beyond what Microsoft lists at launch.

If a friend cannot meet minimum, they can still watch the Getting Started guide and sit in Discord while you work. COSMO does not accept a fourth hound who cannot boot.

Update this page when Steam changes the table. Until then, this is the list. Pair it with the Tools hub and go check your dxdiag before you promise a November 2 four-stack.

Playtest and Early Access patches

A playtest build can be heavier or lighter than the November 2 Game Preview. If you barely meet minimum, close overlays, use a wired connection, and do not host a four-stack on a dying laptop. After the Game Preview drop, patch size will grow inside that 10 GB promise or Steam will raise the number — watch the store table, not a screenshot of this page from September.

If your GPU is between 590 and 2060, start on lower effects and keep the Grav Beam readable. Physics jokes that drop to 20 FPS are how volatile barrels become tragedies. Confirm the live table on Steam, then come back to the Tools hub.
